Internet users could soon be able to enjoy unlimited, legal music downloads at home for a small additional monthly fee, after a British-based music company announced it was in discussions with internet service providers and major record labels...
Omnifone, which already provides unlimited music downloads to mobile phone users, said its MusicStation Next Generation service would provide internet users with a legitimate alternative to illegal file sharing.
..."Tens of millions of European consumers are engaged in music piracy every day," said Rob Lewis, chief executive of Omnifone. "While government pressure is growing, we also need to deliver alternatives that recognise the needs and desires of the YouTube generation.
